On September 7th tennis players came together to raise money for Hope House. Hope House is a local foster care home that children come to after they are removed from an abusive or unhealthy home environment. Forty four players took part in the round robin tennis event. In addition, numerous community members came out to support the event and attend the silent auction. Rock Creek Manor was very generous in donating breakfast and lunch for the event which was enjoyed by all. Over $5,000 was raised for the Hope House over the course of the weekend. A big thank you goes out to all who participated, organized, and donated to the event.
Hope House president Jim Milton, said that the tennis benefit was a great success and that Hope House is very grateful for the support of the Big Canoe tennis members. We hope that this event will help the Hope House in continuing to fulfill their mission of “making a difference one child at a time”.
