Members of the Hope House Board recently gathered to work on the annual fund raising campaign. Several years ago after hearing a speech highlighting the plight of parents who cannot or will not care for them, Nelson Dussault and the Jasper Rotary Club decided to take action. For help, the Rotarians turned to the community who responded with open arms. As a result of this extraordinary community effort, Hope House opened in 1998. Today Hope House serves as a safe haven for some of our most vulnerable citizens, providing temporary shelter and support for children who cannot go home. Some children stay only a few days until a more permanent solution can be worked out; others stay much longer. Hope house serves children of Pickens and surrounding counties. Proceeds form the Hope House’s annual campaign go to keep Hope House open as a safe place for these children.
